Montserrat Caballe dead: Spanish Soprano dies at 85

Today, October 6, 2018 is the day where our famous Spanish operatic soprano is no more with us. After more than 50 years journey through the world with her amazing talented voice, Spanish Soprano died this morning in hospital.

She is a Spanish singer who released hit single Barcelona with Freddie Mercury, has died aged 85. Se lost her life in Catalan capital at Sant Pau Hospital this morning.

As her health was not good from years ago, she had joined the hospital since middle of last month due to her illness. Caballe who was 85 years in April was suffering from ill health for years after having a stroke in 2012. It is expected that her funeral will be take place on Monday. Her song with Queen Frontman Freddies was released in 1987.

She was in eight number in the UK charts who was one of the great late vocalist’s solo career.

Via video link, court hear excuse to her from attending tax fraud trial in Barcelona in 2015 because she was facing issues towards her health. Her health condition was too poor.

In a career spanning, she toured around the world in 50 years, achieving international acclaim in 1965. And take further step for another singer in Donizetti’s opera in New York in difficult role of Lucrezia Borgia.

She gave an amazing performance. She was “just wow” at that time which made her famous all around the opera world. At Covent Garden in 1972, she had made her first appearance.

Caballe, was born on April 12, 1933 at Barcelona, Spain. She married in 1964 with Bernabe Marti and they have two children with Spanish tenor Bernabe Marti.
